Introducing Cycle Savvy with Sam 🚲✨

Hi Pals! I’m excited to share something new: starting this September, I’ll be launching a weekly mini-blog series that will drop every Sunday called, Cycle Savvy with Sam!

Why? Because biking is one of my favorite ways to be active, explore my local community and spend time with friends. However, I’ve also realized that when we’re out on the road together, something that is really important to me is that safety comes first.💛

This series is my way of learning out loud and sharing what I find out with you! I’ll be covering things like:

  • What the law really says about bikes in West Virginia 🚦

  • How to ride safely and predictably in traffic 🛑

  • Gear and lights that make a difference 🌟

  • Preparing for group rides and riding with cars 🚘

  • Tricks and Tips I’ve picked up from other cyclists along the way 🙌

⚠️ IMPORTANT ⚠️

I’m not a certified bike safety instructor, lawyer or expert of any kind. These posts are just me sharing what I’m learning. Please do your own research, double-check the rules and make the choices that keep you safe.

Me (Sam Nygaard) on a group bike ride with West Virginia Pedal Pals.

My hope is simple: that by sharing what I learn, more folks will feel comfortable and confident riding their bikes in our community. And maybe, just maybe, you’ll feel ready to join me for a ride sometime soon. 😉 💕

I’ll end every blog post with a lil’ question for you to ponder (maybe while you pedal)! 🚲

👉 What bike safety question do you have that you’d love to see answered in this series? Drop it in the comments on Facebook or send me a note via email (wvpedalpals@gmail.com), your question might be featured in a future post!

Stay tuned for this Sunday, September 7th when Cycle Savvy with Sam launches! 🚴‍♀️✨
